Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,Statism is a belief that government is infallible and whatever government does is permissible. Statism is becoming the norm among Americans who are born free but willingly surrender their freedom to government. Statists, the politicians, have convinced themselves and others that they are the government.
America’s founders feared government. Fewer and fewer people fear government and demand more from it. Many people agree that government is corrupt except for what the government does for them. They have no problem with spending tax dollars for their charity, their cause, or their problem. Freedom dies because people want that which the Statist so readily provides. Dependence on government lessens personal responsibility.
Special treatment for some results in abuse of others. The Statist Agenda is the root cause of most of the problems in America today. Government is replacing God as the go-to entity for help in troubled times. The Statist asserts that our rights come to us courtesy of the founders of the nation who acknowledged that our rights are gifts from the One who created us. The healing needed in our land can happen if we reject the Statist and embrace God and the principles upon which America was founded.
How is it that we have allowed so much control of our lives to be handed over to those who have put themselves in the place of Almighty God? Given the temporal nature of our brief existence in this life, are we to live in fear and trembling of people who have set themselves apart as our masters and superiors?
The true God shows no favoritism. The Statist thrives on favoritism manifested as identity politics. Taxes are an example. God asks for contributions. Statists seize, by force and under color of law, the wealth of people and redistribute that wealth to groups demanding special treatment.
The Statist denies the universal rights of all by granting special rights to some. Christians are abused every day. Muslims cause terror and death but receive favorable treatment and many tax dollars from the Statist.
Illegal aliens, mostly Hispanic and Muslim, are tools of the Statist. Illegals are not considered criminals but oppressed minorities entitled to live in America at the expense of the taxpayers. The California Legislature is preparing to set aside seven million dollars to be used to defend illegals in court.
Opiod use has become a cause celebre of the Statists. The targets are the drug companies who produce and sell the legal drugs while little effort is aimed at eliminating illegal drugs, such as heroin and cocaine. Those at the top of the illegal drug trade are rarely prosecuted Financial institutions that launder the cash produced by the drug trade remain untouched by the long arm of the law.
Freedom should be the first goal of elected officials and citizens who vote. For government to grow, freedom must diminish. The Statist and the Statist Agenda succeed because we trust politicians more than we trust God. When the misery factor gets high enough, we will turn back to God.
