S. O. S. – SPEAKING OF SENIORS
On January 8, 2018, I received a copy of a Medicare claims appeal that I had helped a client to file. The client is from Steger, Illinois.
In June of 2017, the client visited me with papers related to a medical bill problem. Medicare had denied coverage of a medical service that she received and the medical firm was billing her for a balance of $2,463.16.
I reviewed the papers and found a problem with the way the claim had been filed with Medicare. I wrote a letter to the medical firm that was billing our client and advised them of what I believed was an error in their billing. Also, I helped the client to appeal the decision that denied coverage for the medical services.
My efforts rendered a positive result for our client. Medicare ruled that there was a mistake in the filing of the claim and that our client owed no money. Thus, my efforts saved our client $2,463.16.
All the help that I gave this client was FREE OF CHARGE. This insurance agency helps our clients with such medical bill problems to protect our clients from financial harm when the Medicare system has a glitch. Does your insurance agent or agency give this high level of service to senior citizen clients? If not, why not?
