Indiana Republicans should adopt what is known as the Virginia Republican Creed. These five principles would serve Conservative candidates well. They are:
That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,
That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,
That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,
That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,
That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,
That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation.
To this list could be added limited government: a government intended to protect its people without intruding into their lives, to protect our liberty, our safety, and our freedom to become whatever God has intended us to become. Government regulations should be reasonable and restrained, we should live within our means with balanced budgets, low taxes, and keeping government spending under control. Include … Federalism with states’ rights, open and transparent government with accountability, and fairness in all levels of government, believing that government is simply a steward of the resources which have been bestowed upon it by the people.
Compare the Republican principles to those of the radical Progressives who have taken over the Democrat Party. These include: unlimited government, vigorous regulation of the economy and peoples’ lives, confiscatory taxes because they know how to spend your money better than you do, endangering your safety and well-being with c, and limited spending on defense. This is what the Progressives offer us.
President Trump governs through these Republican principles. Check out Mike Braun, Dr. Richard Moss, Diego Morales, Stephen MacKenzie, Rep. Jim Banks, and Trey Hollingsworth who are running for Congress in Indiana. See if these candidates will work to implement these Republican principles.
