Letter to the Editor
Trump said that we should be proud of our history. There are negatives in our history of course, but on balance, the United States has been a force for good more than any other nation in history. Our system of justice is the envy of every freedom loving person on the planet. The system is slow, deliberative, and dedicated to the idea that persons charged with crimes are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. This is clear affirmation of the rights of the individual against the excesses of government. Washingtonians, UniParty members to their core, do not believe in the rights of individuals. They seldom speak of these rights or the idea of due process unless one of them is charged with a crime.
Their appeal is to group rights. Group rights are not Constitutional principles to be defended. Group rights are a creation of UniParty members used by them to pit various groups against each other. Christians are very much aware of this egregious practice.
President Trump had more refreshing words. He said that we should protect our borders and win wars. Open borders and the abuse of immigration law are the leading weapons in redefining America. The majority of the illegals become wards of the State which benefits the politicians and abuses tax paying Americans.
The idea of winning wars has become a moot point in Washington. War is a major component of the world economy. Since Germany and Japan were defeated in the last century, there has been no similar threat to America, yet, the American military has been involved in constant war. Ill-defined “American interests” are the justification for the continuing expenditure of blood and treasure overseas by American soldiers.
Protecting prosperity at home was another point made by the President. The recent changes to tax law happened solely because of Donald Trump. While not perfect, the reform is a step in the right direction. It is something UniParty members would never have done on their own. They could and have refused to accede to the will of voters. They did accede to the will of their real masters in corporate America. Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is proving to be the man we need in Washington.
