Letter to the Editor
There was a time when any candidate who did not express and practice a belief in God had no chance of winning an election. It is clear today that God or anything God represents is not welcome in the public square. Eternal truths have been replaced with political expediency where dirty tricks, half truths, and outright lies are the guideposts of those who control political outcomes. Donald Trump is proving to be a challenge to the political madmen, but sooner or later, they will end the threat he poses. The rule of law has been substituted for opinions expressed in social media. An accusation is enough to drive individuals from office. This has the additional benefit of keeping otherwise qualified and willing people from seeking office. Any individual elected to office quickly learns that success does not come from espousing principles but bowing to the whims of party leaders. The two branches of UniParty, the evil cabal inside the Beltway, cooperate in the façade of governing. Political discourse has been replaced with he-said, she-said mindless, unending word games and cover up. Those of us trying to make sense of it all are given to flights of fantasy at how this is possible.
The only conclusion to be drawn is that the lack of decorum—the failure to stand on principle and to call out the evil that abounds—is the way UniParty Members want things to be. Government, in the minds of the ruling class, is the sole province of the ruling class. Those of us among the unwashed, living in flyover country, need to be told what to do and what to think. The contempt that politicians have for ordinary Americans plays out every day.
Yet, people still cling to the belief that this candidate or that political party will change things. Change is not coming, it is already here. The USA has been structured to meet the needs of a small group of egotistical, maniacal practitioners of the game of politics.
