The exercise regimen I do regularly is called Bikram Yoga, a series of the same 26 Hatha yoga postures, done in a room with 105 degree heat. It is a magical and very healing practice, which I highly recommend.
The man who developed the yoga practice, Bikram Choudry, was a champion weightlifter who shattered both of his knees at a competition, and was told he would never walk again. He has already outlived the doctor who told him that.
Bikram’s famous quote is, “never too old, never too sick, never too late to start again.”
And I completely agree.
As long as you are alive and willing, you can accomplish anything. This dovetails with the yoga practice because it is just that—practice. We can always get better at a posture, no matter how good we get at it.
So, too, in life, are we practicing. Practicing believing in ourselves.Practicing having faith. Practicing being better people. We will never be perfect. We can only strive to be.
And it is never, ever too late to begin striving.
