The door to my Bikram Yoga studio is right next to the door to a gourmet ice cream store.
As I was heading into my studio the other day, I noted this with some irony.
It occurred to me that it’s not only the doors which you close (what you let go of) that allow new doors to open (what can then come to you) … it’s sometimes the doors that you open which can make all the difference in the world.
Sort of like, what we say “yes” to.
Every day I go to practice Bikram Yoga I have a simple choice. Open the door to the studio and follow through on something that is good for me and helps keep me happy and on the path to what I want in life. Or, open the door to the ice cream store, and eat something that is not good for my body and does not support my goals of staying in shape.
I’m not saying that I never treat myself to something once in a while … I’m just noticing that life really is about these choices we make, every day, and in some ways, it is as simple as which door we choose to open … what we choose to say “yes” to …
