While criticisms of Congresswoman Barbara Comstock’s increasingly frequent “unRepublican” votes continue to surface across Virginia’s 10th District, scuttlebutt mounts that Shak Hill may challenge her for the Republican nomination in 2018.
Mr. Hill is a former U.S. Air Force pilot and a grassroots activist who sought the Republican nomination for Senator in 2014, giving eventual nominee Ed Gillespie strong competition—especially “down state.”
In response to queries, a Hill spokesman did not confirm the rumors of a Shak Hill challenge to Barbara Comstock but did provide the following lean-forward statement:
Shak Hill is moving with deliberate speed to prepare a campaign that will represent the people of the 10th District not the Washington Swamp.
As turmoil reigns within the Republican Party during the era of Trump, Republicans in Virginia’s 10th District may very well see some intra-party fireworks in the run-up to the Republican nomination for Congress.
