Media release by Dove CampaignA decorated Iraq war veteran will seek the Republican nomination in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District.
Jeff Dove, 35, of Woodbridge, will seek to challenge five-term incumbent Democrat Gerry Connolly. The district comprises most of Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and eastern Prince William County.
Dove, who received the Combat Action Badge during his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom, now works in the information technology industry.
Public service is about more than simply showing up (Dove said). This election presents citizens with an opportunity to vote for change from the uninspired representation they have had for the past decade.
Dove describes himself as a conservative who advocates for a strong military, balanced budget, and progress on issues ranging from transportation to economic advances. He has criticized Connolly, a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee, for his focus on foreign affairs at the expense of district-level needs.
As a congressman, I plan to put a laser focus on matters at home in the district (Dove said). We cannot be a world leader without first accounting for the needs of our people right here at home.
A native of suburban Washington, Dove enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2004 as a chemical operations specialist. After serving in Iraq, he returned to the area and married his wife, Stephanie Fallarme-Dove, a federal employee.
The Doves are expecting their first child in July.
