Media Release from Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) on March 15, 2017
Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will host two informational meetings on the proposed Reston Transportation Service District. The meetings will be held:
- Tuesday, March 21, 2017, 7:00 PM, in the cafeteria of Coates Elementary School, 2480 River Birch Road, Herndon
- Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 7:00 PM, in the lecture hall of Hughes Middle School, 11401 Ridge Heights Road, Reston
At its meeting on February 28, 2017, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the Reston Transportation Funding Plan, which includes arrangements for financing the public and private share of Reston infrastructure improvements (see Item #47, page 33-34). The proposed service district is part of the approved funding plan, and the purpose of the information meetings scheduled for March 21 and 29 is to provide information to the community on the proposed service district in advance of a public hearing scheduled to be held on April 4, 2017.
