In a disrespectful, highly partisan, and downright contemptuous gesture last Thursday, a group of 15 Democratic Congressmen walked out of a meeting of Congressman Darrell Issa’s House Oversight & Government Reform Committee just before relatives of those who died protecting the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi testified. And Fairfax County’s Gerald E. Connolly was one of the 15 who participated in this preplanned shameful act.
In the words of Ron Meyer, one of the declared Republican candidates for the Congressional seat currently occupied by Mr. Connolly:
“It’s hard to believe Representative Connolly doesn’t have time to listen to a crying mother of a Benghazi victim. What meeting was more important than her testimony?
